Oracle Install Base Overview and Manual Instance Creation

                                             Overview

Install base is item instance life cycle tracking application
that facilitates item management and tracking capability. You can specify which items you want to track in the Master items in Oracle Inventory, When a real world instance of item is created, an item instance is created in Oracle install base. Any significant changes to the item instance will also be recorded in Oracle Install Base.


Manually Creating Item Instance

  Navigation:
 Oracle Installed Base Agent User>Item Instances>  

 
 Create Button: Click Create button to manually create item instance

 
 

Enter Organization, Item , Quantity and customer to create item instance.

Quantity : Quantity can be more than one for serialized items which is new feature in R12


 

 Owner Party: Enter customer name,number and account number for which you have to create item instance.

Current Location & Install Location: Enter party and address where item is currently located and installed. Check the check box “Same as current location” if installed location is same as current location.


 

 

 Updating An Item Instance: To update any attribute of item instance >Click> Instance Update
